Mings hopeful on Lye injury

Chippenham Town boss Adie Mings is optimistic Scott Lye could make a rapid recovery from his calf injury.

The midfielder sustained the injury late in the 4-1 home win over Gloucester City on Monday and is battling to regain fitness for the trip to Mangotsfield on Saturday.

It was initially feared Lye had pulled his calf muscle but Mings is hopeful he can return quicker than expected.

He said: "Scott has got better and better for us and has proved a valuable signing.

"Hopefully there isn't as much damage as we first thought, or none at all.

"Tommy (Callinan) spoke to Scott yesterday and it seems to have got better and we will assess it at training tomorrow."
